When it comes to your big day, whilst there’s no doubting that the ceremony itself is one you’ll remember for the rest of your lives, it’s ultimately the wedding reception which your guests will talk about for years to come and, with that in mind, it’s important that you take the time to plan it carefully and pay attention to the finer details. It’s all too easy to let the little details slip, however when it comes to planning the most stunning day, it’s these things which count and things such as who you hire to provide the perfect music for your big day can make a huge difference.
Know What You Want
Above all else, it’s important that you know exactly what it is you want for your big day. Do you want a relaxed jazz band, a tribute band to your favourite artist or even a DJ? This, in most instances, is the first thing to work out as your wishes will largely dictate the approach which you take and will also, to an extent, dictate the budget you’ll need to set aside.
Whilst it’s all too tempting to consider just your own likes and tastes, don’t forget that you’ll have a room full of guests to entertain and it’s as important to take into account what will go down well with them as well as what you yourselves want to dance the night away to!
What Budget Is Available?
A seven-piece jazz band will undoubtedly cost more to hire than a DJ playing golden wonder hits, if only due to the fact that there’s more mouths to feed and more of the band to put a roof over for the night! Whilst that’s not to say that you won’t find some bands which cost less than some DJ’s and similarly, the other way round, as a general rule, if you’re working to a budget, you may be best off looking at DJ’s who you know can deliver a great party atmosphere.
Know Where To Look
Half of the battle when booking wedding music is knowing where to look and, in many cases, you’ll find it far easier and less time consuming to go through an entertainment agency rather than finding the bands yourself and approaching direct. We recently came across this great post from BandHire.UK which makes a great point, stating that, “Let’s not forget that quality wedding acts get booked up to a year in advance, so once you’ve made the find, you need to move in quick. But before this stage, think about your entertainment options; you personal music taste, your budget, venue space, guest demographics, and prepare to keep an open mind as you begin your search!”
By working with an entertainment agency, you can almost, in many cases, let them do much of the hard work for you following an initial consultation as to what you think you’re looking for!
Your wedding is a day which will (hopefully) only happen once and the more impressive you can make it with these little touches, the more spectacular it’ll be for both you and your guests!
